Drug Abuse Prevention and the Development of a Healthy Lifestyle Culture Discussed at KBSU
A meeting between faculty and representatives of the healthcare system and law enforcement agencies was held at the Pedagogical College of Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov. The event was part of the «Clean Generation 2026» preventive operation. It was organized by the KBSU Coordination Center.
Anzor Lobzhanidze, Head of the Communications and Public Projects Department of the Center for Public Health, Medical Prevention, Medical Analytics, and Information Technology (TsOZMAIT) of the Kabardino-Balkarian Ministry of Health, his colleague Artur Pachev, and Major Zalina Kagazezheva, a police inspector with the Nalchik Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, addressed the audience.
The participants discussed key issues in developing a healthy lifestyle and drug abuse prevention among young students. Particular attention was paid to the role of teachers in creating a safe educational environment and supporting students.
«Early detection of signs of psychoactive substance use and timely referral to a specialist is a key task for educators in addiction prevention,» noted Anzor Lobzhanidze, Head of the Communications and Public Projects Department at the Center for Public Health.
Representatives of the Center for Public Health provided detailed information on which changes in student behavior should be prioritized and how to seamlessly integrate healthy lifestyle topics into both academic and extracurricular activities. Police Major Zalina Kagazezheva, in turn, highlighted the legal aspects of the issue and penalties for drug trafficking.
At the end of the meeting, the organizers emphasized that open dialogue and systematic preventative work help create a safe educational environment and effectively combat destructive habits.
