Director of the IMTHI Ramazan Ligidov is undergoing training under the program «School of Rectors 24» at the Skolkovo
The program involves full immersion in solving the problem of university transformation. Up to 60% of the time is devoted to working with real projects. 68 students from 28 universities and 23 cities of Russia solve problems that are a priority for them, they study on management simulators and trainings, conduct trainings, analyze cases, listen to lectures from expert practitioners, learn to manage the university, and develop analytical skills.
Topics such as university positioning and strategy, research management, innovation and entrepreneurship, and transformation of educational models are covered.
A business game on university transformation management was held as part of the first training module. Having scored 400 points out of 500 possible, the group, which included Ramazan Ligidov, became the winner of the competition, ahead of 11 teams.
“We learn to think big. We study the trends of university development. We are taught to think outside the box, to use templates and formal patterns in thinking less. In routine work, their use is correct, because when it is necessary to ensure the current functioning of the system and make decisions quickly, deviations are not needed,” notes the director of the IMTiIG KBSU.
The educational program “Rectors’ School” is designed for six months and consists of 6 modules. World-famous experts act as teachers for rectors. The program helps prepare managers who are able to reassemble the university model and are ready to take responsibility for designing a fundamentally new image of the university.
Over the entire period of its existence, about 1,000 representatives of more than 200 higher educational institutions from Russia and the CIS countries have become graduates. More than 400 graduates of the program have received promotions, and up to 80 percent of all university transformation projects developed by course participants are being implemented in practice.
The Russian Ministry of Education and Science believes that training rectors will help take Russian universities to a new level and help them get into world rankings.
