Day of Science with KBSU: Faculty of Medicine opened its doors for talented students
February 7-8, 2023 Medical Faculty of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov, as part of the Week of Science, opened its doors to schoolchildren who want to connect their lives with medicine.
Zareta Kambachokova, Deputy Dean for Educational and Career Guidance, Professor of the Department of Hospital Therapy of the Faculty of Medicine, greeted the guests and made a presentation of the Faculty of Medicine. She introduced the students to the history of the faculty, and also spoke about the admission rules for 2023.
Head of the Department of Normal and Pathological Anatomy Madina Tlakadugova and Associate Professor of the Department Aslan Vologirov conducted an excursion to the anatomical museum, where they talked about the structure of the human body. Aslanbek Akhmetov, Associate Professor of the Department of Normal and Pathological Anatomy of the Faculty of Medicine, demonstrated to schoolchildren the Anatomage interactive educational platform with ultra-high quality 3D images of the human body. The children saw anatomical structures with high accuracy and maximum realism.
Under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of Pharmacy Zukhra Tsakhkhayeva, students were able to independently study the production of medicines using plant materials in the laboratory. She introduced the children to the basics of pharmacology, talked about the effect of drugs on the human body, the features of their use and dosage forms.
On February 8, an excursion was held for students of the medical shift of the regional center for identifying and supporting gifted children in the field of art, sports, education and science in the KBR «Antares» to the laboratory of physiology, where Tatyana Kipkeeva, an assistant at the Department of Normal and Pathological Physiology of the Faculty of Medicine, conducted several experiments for children, during which they learned about the formed elements of the blood, about their function in the human body and were able to count the number of red blood cells using a special device.
