Day of protection of intellectual property for the first time in KBSU
Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov celebrated the Intellectual Property Day for the first time, which is held under the auspices of the World Intellectual Property Organization “Women and Intellectual Property – a Catalyst for Innovation and Creativity”.
The host of the event, head of the Technology and Innovation Support Center of the Department of Scientific Research and Innovation Maryana Marzhohova greeted the participants of the event:
Dear friends, today we want not only to note the merits of our colleagues in the field of intellectual property, but also to emphasize that KBSU is proud of such outstanding people, professionals high class. Your contribution to the development of science is invaluable, it is you who are the support on which the future of our state is built.
The hall was attended by employees of the university, inventors from other organizations of the republic, who made a significant contribution to the development of inventions of the KBR, representatives of ministries and departments.
Vice-Rector for Research, Professor, Director of the Center for Advanced Materials and Additive Technologies, Doctor of Chemical Sciences Svetlana Hashirova noted:
Invention and the number of patents that are now available in the country are already a large capital in the field of new knowledge. Recently, speaking in the government, the head of Rospatent noted that the country’s wealth will be measured precisely by the number of patents and implemented technologies. Therefore, we are very proud that our university has received more than 350 patents over the past few years. This is a huge figure for a regional university. And thanks to such results, we are in 4th place in Russia in terms of patenting inventions and developments. This year, several license agreements have already been concluded for the transfer of patents to industrial partners who are ready to implement these technologies. I would also like to note that many young scientists are now patenting in our country. We recently signed an agreement on a school patent in St. Petersburg. That is, a child from the first grade, if he has an idea, can declare it, patent it, and also submit it to the competition, and the winners of this competition will be awarded in the Federation Council. This innovation will help attract talented young people to us and keep them in the republic.
For a welcoming speech and an awards ceremony, the chairman of the Committee of the Parliament of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic on Education, Science and Youth Nina Emuzova was invited to the stage.
The IP-STAR Intellectual Property Star Award was given to:
