The Elbrus Educational and Scientific Complex of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov (KBSU) hosted the VI All-Russian scientific and practical conference with international participation «Digital Transformation of Science and Education», as well as the Forum of the Association for Information Security (AZI) «Current Issues of Information Security». Leading Russian and foreign scientists, postgraduate students, master’s students and experts from among representatives of government and business took part in the discussion of priority vectors for the development of science and information technology.

The scientific agenda of the conference and forum included work in such significant areas as digital trends in education, artificial intelligence, development of unmanned systems and information security issues.

A participant of the conference, President of the International Public Organization «Association for Information Security» (AZI) Vladimir Los emphasized the need to train specialists in information security:

New technologies offer us both opportunities and threats. With each step forward, we encounter new types of fraud that are becoming more sophisticated. This makes us think about the need to develop methods to counter these threats. The fraud industry is growing, and now these are people with a high level of education, prepared both technically and psychologically.

They must be confronted by a trained contingent of specialists, defenders who know how not only to identify fraud, but also to prevent it. Training programs play an important role in this matter, which should develop a sense of responsibility and patriotism in future defenders. Such specialists should be held in special regard, because their goal is to protect society and comply with the law. The fight against fraud is an ongoing process that requires careful training and education of real defenders.

Sergey Bezzateev, head of the Department of Information Security at St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, emphasized that artificial intelligence simplifies life, but at the same time creates threats such as deepfakes, especially for children. He noted that children perceive information naively, which makes them vulnerable to fraudsters, and protecting children from malicious content and AI attacks is becoming extremely important. Bezzateev emphasized that, unfortunately, we react to attacks only after they have been committed, which makes it difficult to predict the actions of intruders. He pointed out that historically, protections were often developed after threats appeared, as in the case of ransomware. In addition, he noted the importance of conferences for setting goals and discussing future technologies, since highly qualified specialists can foresee threats and develop systems that will warn of possible attacks on new technologies.

Such events not only help discuss current challenges in the field of digital transformation, but also open up new prospects for the development of science and education in the context of a rapidly changing technological landscape.

The conference and forum were organized by the Institute of Electronics, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence of KBSU.
