Corruption as a social evil and crime: Urgent problem discussed at KBSU
The problem of corruption was discussed at a round table at the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Physical Culture and Sports Education of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov.
The purpose of the meeting was to form an intolerant attitude towards corruption in students, to increase their level of legal awareness and legal culture.
The topic of corruption is often discussed in society today. It is very important that everyone understands what it is, what harm it brings and how to fight it,
— the director of the KBSU Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Physical Culture and Sports Education Olga Mikhaylenko opened the conversation.
According to Fatima Margusheva, the leading legal adviser of the legal department of the KBSU Human Resources and Legal Support Department, the most common manifestation of corruption is giving and receiving a bribe.
I would like to inform you that according to the Criminal Code, not only the person who received the bribe is punished, but also the one who gave it. That is, both parties are guilty here. Brokerage mediation is also a criminal offense,
— commented the leading legal adviser.
Fatima Margusheva reminded that the university has a leading specialist in the prevention of corruption and other offenses, who is always open to requests.
Information about known cases of corruption or coercion to give a bribe can also be shared on the official website of the university by filling out the request form.
The participants of the round table noted that only together can we defeat corruption.
