An expert-analytical session was held at KBSU as part of the project «Meanings of the Caucasus»
As part of the work of the laboratory «Meanings of the Caucasus» at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov, today they discussed the consolidating values and the image of the future of the Russian Caucasus.
The laboratory is more than 100 experts — young specialists in the humanities from the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District, united by the common idea of developing relevant meanings of the Russian Caucasus and transforming them into current practices.
Vice-rector of KBSU for youth policy, educational work and social issues Beslan Nazranov expressed confidence that Russia will be able to successfully resist modern threats emanating from unfriendly countries and preserve its national identity.
Today we see what challenges are thrown to our multinational country and society. At such moments, we must unite around the president, who is the guarantor of our cultural sovereignty and the preservation of the traditional values of the peoples of Russia,

Head of the Department of the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District Andrey Karpov presented the key points of the «Meanings of the Caucasus» project. This is the development of visual images, communication channels and messages of the macro-region, the development of civil diplomacy, public, interethnic and ethno-confessional institutions.
A special educational program and internship are provided for successful participants. The laboratory areas operate under the guidance of mentors from among federal experts in the field of political analysis, consulting, implementation of socio-political and media projects.
The head of the «Meanings of the Caucasus» laboratory, PhD in history, associate professor of the Department of General History of the KBSU named after Kh.M. Berbekov Asker Tumov shared the main areas of work.
The «Meanings of the Caucasus» laboratory was opened on the platform of the «Future of the Caucasus» club with the support of the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District.
The project’s goal is to tell the world about the picturesque and multinational region and to dispel stereotypes about the North Caucasus, to introduce Russians to Caucasian etiquette, developed over centuries. In this code, the concept of honor is characterized as key.
