Admissions campaign at KBSU: a record number of applications and high competition for in-demand specialties
On July 25, the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov completed accepting applications and documents from applicants wishing to enroll in bachelor’s, specialist’s and basic higher education programs without passing entrance examinations, based on the results of the Unified State Exam. Summing up the preliminary results, several key points can be noted.
This year, 10,982 applications were submitted for bachelor’s and specialist’s programs, which is 1,498 more than last year. The average passing score of applicants on a budget basis was approximately 69.78. More accurate data will be known on August 8, after the end of enrollment in budget places.
Traditionally, there is high competition for medical specialties, as well as for such popular specialties as «Economics», «Jurisprudence», «Linguistics» and «History». It is worth noting that the target places were closed for all medical specialties, as well as for the directions «Economics», «Jurisprudence», «Construction», «Information Security» and «Informatics and Computer Engineering».
The wide geographical coverage of the university and its attractiveness for students from different parts of the country is emphasized by the fact that, in addition to natives of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, applicants from 54 regions of Russia submitted documents. Among them, 20 people are from the Donetsk People’s Republic and 14 from the Lugansk People’s Republic.
Among the KBSU applicants, 115 high-scorers stand out, of which 8 received the maximum 100 points in one of the subjects. It is especially worth mentioning one applicant who demonstrated an outstanding result, scoring 100 points in two subjects. Also this year, the world champion will be enrolled in the Physical Education program on a contract basis without entrance examinations.
Thus, the current admissions campaign at KBSU demonstrates a steady increase in the number of applications and a high level of preparation of applicants, which indicates significant interest in the university’s educational programs.
The culmination stage is ahead — a week and a half, during which it will become known who will be able to study on a budgetary basis, and who was unable to score enough points.
Already now, applicants who passed by points can find their last name by the individual number they received on the university website or through the super service.
The period for submitting consents for enrollment will be from August 1 to 5. Until August 1, this applies to those who are admitted on benefits or without entrance examinations. The rest must submit consent for enrollment no later than 12:00 Moscow time on August 5.
If an applicant has selected several areas within one university, consent will automatically apply to all selected specialties.
Enrollment will be based on priorities: if there are not enough points for enrollment in the first or second area, but enough for the third, then the applicant will be enrolled in the third.
According to experts, the most active events are expected on August 4-5, when the process of redistributing consents will begin. Therefore, it is recommended to closely monitor the updates of the ranked lists and ensure stable access to the Internet.
On August 2-3, orders on priority enrollment (targeted recruitment, quotas, Olympiad winners) will be published.
On August 6-7, orders on enrollment in budget places will be published.
If there are still vacancies after this, KBSU will announce additional enrollment, which will be completed no later than August 11.
After August 11, the university will announce additional admission to areas of study where vacancies remain. Enrollment will end on August 29.
