For his significant contribution to the implementation of the federal project «University Shifts», acting rector of Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov Yuri Altudov was awarded the Gratitude of the President of Russia.
The ceremony was held today in Moscow at the Russian State Agrarian University — Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev. The head of the university received the award from the hands of the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Olga Petrova.
According to the vice-rector of KBSU for Youth Policy, Educational Work and Social Issues Beslan Nazranov, who is also taking part in the strategic session dedicated to the implementation of the educational and tourist programs «University Shifts», our university joined the project in 2022.
More than 230 teenagers from the DPR and LPR had a rest in the Elbrus Educational and Scientific Complex of KBSU. They completed thematic educational programs and got acquainted with the culture and history of the KBR. Since then, the number of participants has increased sixfold. In 2024, up to 1,200 schoolchildren from the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions have already visited KBSU during 8 educational shifts. Each time, the university expands not only the geography of participants, but also the educational and cultural program.
Two shifts out of eight were held in a new format with the involvement of school students-activists who passed the competitive selection of the «Movement of the First» from 14 regions of the Russian Federation: Belgorod, Kirov, Leningrad, Rostov, Sverdlovsk regions, Krasnodar, Stavropol, Krasnoyarsk territories, the republics of Altai, Dagestan, Crimea, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Yugra, Moscow and the Karachay-Cherkess Republic,
— commented Beslan Nazranov.
Following the results of this season, the management of KBSU decided to hold a competitive selection to identify the most active participants in the «University Shifts» project. Six winners will be rewarded with a voucher for the career guidance introductory program «KBSU for applicants».
Acting rector of KBSU Yu.K. Altudov:
We plan to organize an excursion program for the activists of the «University Shifts» around the university and the sights of the republic, introduce them to the culture and customs of the peoples of Kabardino-Balkaria and tell them about the achievements of KBSU. They will also have the opportunity to attend classes and delve into the specifics of the educational process.
Recall that «University Shifts» is a federal project implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia jointly with the Ministry of Education and the Russian Movement of Children and Youth «Movement of the First». It gives children and teenagers aged 14-17, including those from the recently annexed territories, the opportunity to get acquainted with universities, their infrastructure, laboratories and areas of training, and is also aimed at forming a Russian identity through an additional general development program. This year alone, about 12 thousand children from the annexed territories visited different cities and universities in Russia. Children from the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions also took part.
