“Abilimpix-2024” in KBSU
Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov became the platform for the VIII Regional Championship of professional excellence among persons with disabilities and limited health “Abilimpix” in four competencies.
On April 25, the pedagogical college hosted competitions in the competencies “Pre-school education” (category “Students”) and “Primary school teacher” (category “Students”). Future educators demonstrated professional skills in organizing and conducting outdoor games with preschool children. The competition task for teachers included preparing and conducting a fragment of a lesson on “The World Around us” for second-graders using interactive methods.
At the College of Information Technology and Economics, participants competed in the following competencies: “Database Administration” (category “Students”) and “Web Design” (category “Students”). In the “Web Design” competency, the guys were given the task of creating a layout of a website page on a specific topic, and then the website itself. The task for the “Database Administration” competency involved creating a table. During the implementation of this competition task, it was necessary to create an information bank, fill it with identical information, provide the ability to retrieve data from the database (create queries and reports) and organize a user interface for work.
At the KBSU sites, master classes were organized for schoolchildren on the basics of robotics, children’s programming, drawing and other areas.
It should be noted that 22 KBSU students with disabilities are participating in the competition. The winners of the regional stage will be able to take part in the Abilympics National Championship, which traditionally takes place in Moscow.
The department of inclusive education of the university, the department for pre-university preparation and career guidance and volunteers from among KBSU college students provided enormous assistance in holding the regional Abilympics championship on the basis of KBSU, excursions for schoolchildren to the championship sites.
During the championship, KBSU also hosted a round table “Unlimited Opportunities”, during which issues of promoting the professional development and employment of graduates from among the disabled and persons with disabilities were discussed. Representatives of the university’s career development department, the department of inclusive education, the FKP Rosreestr for the KBR, the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Automation of the Kaliningrad Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as university students with disabilities took part in the dialogue.
The speakers discussed the problems that arise when looking for work for people with disabilities, named the conditions that contribute to successful employment, including the availability of high-quality vocational education, integration into the professional environment, high interest in a permanent job and effective professional and social adaptation. The success story of Dmitry Dimitrichenko, a senior researcher at the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Automation of the Kaliningrad Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, who, despite being blind, achieved the status of a candidate of sciences, served as an example for inspiration.
The organizers of the round table are the Career Development Department together with the Department of Inclusive Education and the regional branch of the Russian Society “Knowledge” in the KBR.
