A KBSU student became the Kabardino-Balkarian pankration champion
Azamat Temukuyev, a student at the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology, and Physical Education and Sports Education (IPPiFSO) of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh. M. Berbekov (KBSU), won the republican pankration championship. The tournament, which attracted over 300 participants from across Kabardino-Balkaria, took place on January 18 at the KBSU physical education and sports complex.
Azamat Temukuyev took first place in the 62 kg weight category among athletes aged 18-19. Thanks to this success, he was included in the republican team that will travel to the North Caucasus Federal District Championship in Ingushetia in early February.
This victory is the result of daily work and iron discipline. Azamat is successfully managing his academic workload in Primary Education and rigorous training.
«Combining studies and professional sports is a challenge that requires complete dedication. After classes, I have six training sessions a week. Discipline and a schedule help me keep up with everything. My victory is largely thanks to my coach, Zalim Pshukov, President of the MMA Federation of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, the teachers who are accommodating, and, of course, the support of the university, which provides all the conditions for development. Professional sports teaches resilience and quick decisions—qualities I’m sure will be useful in my future teaching career. Right now, all my thoughts are focused on the upcoming North Caucasus Federal District Championship. I’ll do my best to represent the university and the republic with dignity,» shared Azamat Temukuyev.
Congratulations to Azamat on his impressive victory and wish him continued success on the national stage!
