A historical crossword puzzle was solved on the site of the KBSU library

October 25, 2022 85 students of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov from among history lovers took part in an unusual educational campaign «All-Russian Historical Crossword», one of the venues for which was the scientific library of KBSU. In the reading room of the humanities and social sciences (KBSU Information Center) and in the reading room of the Medical College, students of the Pedagogical College, the Medical College, the College of Design, the College of Information Technology and Economics gathered to test their knowledge and ability to think logically.

As the organizers of the action, the Moscow City Pedagogical University and the State Public Historical Library, noted: “About 11,000 people wrote the historical crossword this year. 48 regions of Russia took part in organizing and holding the action. In addition to Moscow, the sites of the Historical Crossword this year were in Anapa, Volgograd, Vologda, Gorno-Altaisk, Kazan, Kirov, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Krasnoyarsk, Lipetsk, Magnitogorsk, Maykop, Murmansk, Nalchik, Nizhny Novgorod, Orel, Ryazan, Samara , Saransk, Stavropol, Syktyvkar, Tambov, Tyumen, Ulan-Ude, Ulyanovsk, Chelyabinsk, Yakutsk and in many other Russian cities and villages — 400 sites throughout Russia». https://www.mgpu.ru/vserossijskij-istoricheskij-kross

Before the start of the action, a promo video was shown on the screens of multimedia reading rooms, then Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor of Moscow State Pedagogical University, author of school textbooks on the history of Russia Igor Andreev addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. In order to solve a crossword puzzle, it was enough to have a good knowledge of the school curriculum and the ability to think logically.

The tasks in the 2022 crossword were concentrated around two names. These are Alexander Nevsky, who 780 years ago won the Battle of the Ice, and Mikhail Kutuzov, who 210 years ago achieved success during the Patriotic War of 1812-1814. Each participant had 45 minutes to complete the tasks and another 15 minutes to check their solutions. Upon completion, all participants of the action received certificates.
