We all understand how much the incidence and mortality of the coronavirus has increased. For a year and a half we have been looking for approaches to the treatment and prevention of this disease. And it is more than ever obvious how important evidence-based medicine is, which is based on systematic reviews, research, how important they are for practicing doctors, who had a particularly hard time in the first months of the pandemic. I would like to note the systematic, systematic work of the Ministry of Health of Russia, aimed at combating covid,
— said the official.
And about. Murat Gukepshokov, vice-rector of KBSU for personnel and organizational and legal issues, expressed gratitude to medical workers for their selfless work in the context of the spread of coronavirus infection and stressed that great attention is paid to medical education and medical science at KBSU. Over the past few years, large medical centers have been opened at KBSU. The university plans to create its own clinic.
The main freelance infectious disease specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Chulanov, spoke about the importance of holding this conference:
I would like to thank the organizer — Kabardino-Balkarian State University, in particular the Faculty of Medicine, since during a pandemic, when we are in a rather difficult situation, it is much more difficult to conduct such events, but it is extremely important so that we can exchange our knowledge and experience for better care for COVID-19 patients.
Almost the entire North Caucasian Federal District takes part in this conference, and, of course, it is very significant that KBSU takes on a unifying role in the region in order to share the local experience that is available here. It is important to summarize the experience gained here for its further implementation.
In his speech “Pandemic of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19. Lessons from the second year of life for Russia ”Vladimir Chulanov spoke about the experience of combating the spread of COVID-19 in the Russian Federation, as well as about the epidemiological situation in the world. According to him, for the period from September 6 to September 12, basically all regions passed 3 waves, and the last wave so far has high incidence rates. In Russia, the total number of cases is 7,214,520 people, of which more than 98% of unvaccinated citizens who died 195,835. As for vaccine prevention, about 43% of the total population is vaccinated in the world. In Russia, about 32% of citizens have been vaccinated against coronavirus infection.
The virus does not stand still, but is constantly evolving, new mutations cause general concern among doctors. Today, the most common and dangerous strain is delta, which causes a severe course of the disease. Therefore, you need to continue to observe barrier measures: wearing masks, disinfecting surfaces, etc.
It is very important to pay attention to the vaccine prevention program. Not every country can boast of such an arsenal of vaccines as Russia. Sputnik V performed well against the delta strain,
— noted the chief infectious disease specialist of the Russian Federation.
During the conference, participants shared their experience and exchanged best practices in the fight against infections such as COVID-19, whooping cough, meningococcal infection, viral hepatitis C, herpes, pneumonia, SARS and others in the North Caucasus.
