5-year anniversary of Institute of Informatics, Electronics and Robotics of KBSU
On October 5, 2023, the Institute of Informatics, Electronics and Robotics of Kabardino-Balkarian State University celebrated its small five-year anniversary.
A nice team of employees and students congratulated the acting director on the holiday. Rector of KBSU Professor Yuri Altudov, Director of the Institute, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Electronics and Digital Information Technologies Ruslan Teshev, Vice-President of JSC NPP Radiy Mukhamed Bavizhev.
Its graduates came to the birthday of their native institute: researcher of the High Mountain Geophysical Institute Islam Shidugov, design engineer of Ntronik LLC Rezuan Zakuraev, engineer of the scientific and technological center of microelectronics and nanotechnology, member of the youth chamber at the Parliament of the KBR, assistant to the deputy of Parliament Artur Agoev.
Welcoming the staff and students of IIEiR, acting. Rector of KBSU noted that the areas of training implemented at the institute are very relevant and important in modern Russia.
“According to the Russian Academy of Sciences, ensuring the country’s technological sovereignty in the field of microelectronics and creating an economically and socially significant microelectronics industry is a necessary response to the “collective West.” Technological sovereignty in the field of microelectronics, given its real state, means the creation, largely anew, of an entire industry, economically and socially significant and aimed primarily at the domestic rather than the foreign market.
Therefore, we must develop the directions of the Institute of Informatics, Electronics and Robotics of KBSU, taking into account state tasks.
We have a strategic development program, we have a “Priority 2030” program, where directions and deadlines are clearly defined, and there is an understanding of the implementation of assigned tasks.
Today the university positions itself as a driver of socio-economic development. This is a very important position. And we must comply with it. I would like to wish all of us that in five years we will see excellent results of our work,” said Yuri Altudov.
The results of the institute’s work over five years and plans for the future were reported by the head of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Reproduction of KBSU, Professor Ruslan Teshev. As the head of the Department of Electronics and Digital Information Technologies, he expressed gratitude to the acting. Rector of KBSU for the opening of a scientific and technological center for microelectronics and nanotechnology at the university (order 306/0 dated June 1, 2023).
The scientific and production enterprise “Radiy” (Moscow) donated research, technological, measuring and testing equipment to our university free of charge. The main goal of the center is to provide a continuous educational cycle, as well as training, retraining and advanced training of specialists in the field of creating electronic component base and functional materials for micro- and nanoelectronics based on the direct participation of students in research, development and experimental technological work. The functioning of the center will undoubtedly contribute to the qualitative improvement of educational activities and strengthen the practice-oriented orientation of training students in the enlarged group of areas “Electronics, radio engineering and communication systems,”
— emphasized Ruslan Teshev.
The famous scientist, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics Mukhamed Bavizhev addressed mostly the students of IEE&R KBSU:
First of all, I want to congratulate the students. They are the future of our science. Today we must be able to create, create something new and try to lead the country, our small homeland and ourselves personally onto an interesting trajectory for the creation of new technologies. Thanks to the efforts of the leadership of KBSU (Yuri Kambulatovich many times initiated work to create a material base aimed at creating the basic elements of modern electronics), we made a decision, because the Radiy scientific and production enterprise, to create a scientific and technological center at KBSU. The equipment has already been delivered, design and installation are underway.
The main direction included in the set of this equipment is vacuum microelectronics. Why is this direction important? We have a key product — emissive cold cathode. It is key to creating a new component base based on vacuum microelectronics elements. Here we can find ourselves competitive, perhaps even in a more advantageous situation than other countries. Because today this key element, which was developed and will be further developed within the framework of the new scientific center of KBSU, is the best in the world when tested both in America and in other countries. Our task is not to lose this advantage and create new electronics.
Therefore, taking this opportunity, I would like to invite young people and students to participate in these works. Approach the director of the center, Dahir Gaev, and sign up. The direction in itself is very interesting, but there are many other areas that you can develop within the framework of this center.
