During the 2024 admissions campaign, 21 thousand applications from more than 8 thousand applicants were submitted to Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov.

Vice-Rector of KBSU Vadim Lesev:

“We are pleased to note the noticeable increase in the level of preparation of applicants. If in 2023 the average score of those admitted based on the results of the Unified State Exam was 66.85, then in 2024 it was 68.91. At the same time, the competition for places at the expense of budgetary allocations from the federal budget was about 7.5 people per place, which is almost 2 times higher compared to last year.” As before, the following specialties and areas are in the greatest demand: «Jurisprudence», «Economics», «General Medicine», «Pediatrics», «Architecture», «Linguistics», «Information Security» and other IT areas.

New areas of training have also appeared at the university. Kabardino-Balkarian State University has opened admission for the first time to the specialties «Economic Security», «Fundamental Mathematics and Mechanics» with a five-year study period, as well as «Fundamental Informatics and Information Technology» under the bachelor’s degree program.

The procedure for admission to the university under the target quota has also been changed. This year, employers themselves published proposals for concluding target contracts on the «Work in Russia» platform.

A total of 409 places were allocated under the target quota (215 of which were for bachelor’s and specialist’s degree programs, to which 123 applicants were enrolled), which is slightly more than 57 percent. A year earlier, this figure was 52 percent.

35 people were admitted to the university under a separate quota, and 37 under a special quota. A total of 195 applicants were admitted under the quotas.

For the first time in several years, 2 applicants were admitted to the university without entrance examinations. The winner of the final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad in Ecology chose the specialty «General Medicine». And the prize-winner of the school Olympiad of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia was admitted to the program «Fundamental Informatics and Information Technology».

Acting Rector of KBSU Yuri Altudov noted:

What is gratifying is that compared to last year, the number of 100-point scorers admitted to the university has more than doubled. 9 100-point scorers submitted documents to KBSU, among them there is one applicant who scored 200 points. Let me remind you that in 2024, only 24 graduates in the republic received 100 points based on the results of the Unified State Exam. Of these, 37.5% chose the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh. M. Berbekov, which speaks to the high authority of our university.
